Update

Hello,
Sorry I haven't had much time to post here. Just a couple of quick updates. Stephen Harper celebrated his 50th birthday on April 30. Obama celebrated his 100th day in office on April 29. The pirates off the coast of Somali have been at it again. They seized another vessel which I think was British. We have reached a all new high of around 25 degrees. It's a bit colder this week, not much though. Happy Summer!!!!!(and sailing of course)

Spring is Here!!!!!!

Finally, after a fairly short winter, spring has arrived!!!!!! There is buds on all the plants, green grass everywhere, and birds to wake you up every morning!!! I am in awe of all the nature and its rapid growth!!! This spring in a good sign that summer is on its way although we have been having a lot of rain!!! But this water gets everything started growing so by mid-May we will be in full bloom!!!! I know spring has been around a while, but it has still been quite cold. We have hit an all-time record high this year so far of around 15 degrees!!!

With the sailing season rapidly approaching, boats are being launched and sailors become itchy like me to go sailing! But, with this economic downturn and prices of gas fluctuating for a bit there, many sailboats and powerboats will not be launched!!! But the economy is going up slowly but surely. The TSX is steadily beating upwards although it closed today down 190 or so points due to low oil prices. This could prove to be beneficial to those powerboaters who have fear of high fuel prices. I must say, what we have now is nothing compared to the Great Deppresion. No major banks have been closed and Canada is going to be the first out of it. The G-20 Summit met and agreed to give $1 trillion to stimulate the economy.

GM - Should Obama Give Bailout to Automakers!

Recently, GM’s CEO, Rick Wagoner stepped down from his position after being asked to resign by the White House. Obama continues to give financial aid to GM as it has financial difficulty. Obama is going to announce a plan to aid the 2 major automakers, Chrysler and General Motors. Many people are disappointed when he stepped down because he was a big contribution to the company. If Obama does give them a bailout, or a "plan to aid", U.S. will just lose money because it will bring the automakers back to square 1. Financially, GM and Chrysler are unstable. Their products can be expensive, but when nobody has money, nobody can buy.

France

I recently took a trip to France with my mom which was very enjoyable!!! I went to visit my sister, Melissa, in St-Etienne!! We had a very nice flight to France, as we got bumped up to business class seats!!! Boy, do they have lots of leg room!!! We arrived in Amsterdam at about 7:00am their time. We had a brief stopover and than took a 45 minute plane ride to Paris, France. We got there and it took us a bit to find our hotel, but we did! We were slightly dissappointed in the food, but we definitely survived off crepes, and all the patisseries!! Finally, we found a Starbucks where you can get really big cups of coffee and tea!!! We spent a few nights there and then rented a car and drove down to my sisters. But before that, we, of course, saw the Eiffle Tower and l'Arc de Triomphe! After arriving in St-Etienne while following the maps, we became lost! Eventually, we found someone who brought us there. We were tired and excited to finally see my sister! We spent many days there before, sadly, we had to go home!!! We took the train in the morning to Lyon where we went to the airport. We flew to Amsterdam, a 2h flight. We again had a small stopover and flew home to Pearson International! We touched down with snow billowing down! We waited on the runway for a bit until we were permitted to go. We gathered our luggage and went home, which did take a while because of the snow and traffic! That was the end of eating non-stop pastrys!!! We had an awesome time! If ever made possible to take a trip there, do not turn it down! It's worth it!
